The Sony BDP-S380 is a lower mid-cost Blu-Ray player. This Blu-Ray player offers full HD (1080p) playback. Besides Blu-Ray discs, the BDP-S380 can play DVDs, CDs, and SACDs. With the front USB port, you can also view photos and play music and video from external devices.

The Ethernet port of this Blu-Ray player allows you to access the BRAVIA Internet Video platform. This platform allows you access to sites like Netflix, Pandora, HuluPlus and Amazon Video on Demand. The BDP-S380's BD-LIVE functionality allows you to access extra Blu-Ray features like online chats and extra scenes. The Entertainment Database Browser uses Gracenote technologies to allow you to browse details like actor and production information. This Blu-Ray player is WiFi ready, with the USB wireless LAN adapter sold separately. This model differs from the higher cost BDP-S480 model in that the BDP-S480 is DLNA certified (and so can be connected to other DLNA devices), and is HomeShare WiFi Network Speaker compatible. The Sony BDP-S380 Blu-Ray player has a Media Remote feature, which allows you to use your iPhone or iPod touch as a remote control.
